I bought this as a replacement for Natural Deck Oil which is no longer made. The color is an exact match but the formula is not. Natural Deck Oil, in spite of the name, was water based and easy to clean up. When I used Defy Wood Oil I was unable to clean the brush with soap and water. I also recommend applying it very sparingly as it took many days of warm dry weather for it to dry on my deck. I'll finish using what I have but I'm disappointed that it's not a real match to Natural Deck Oil. That was great stuff and so easy to use and fast to dry.
We have been using DEFY wood oil on our decks for the last 2-3 years, and are very pleased. The can says it should be dry in 24 hours, it does take longer than that but it's not a huge deal. Usually it stays tacky for two or three days which was a surprise the first time. Now we're used to it and it's no problem. It goes on very easily and repels the water very well. The places that get beat up by the sun I re-do every year, but some places don't need it as much. The brush seems difficult to wash because it feels tacky even after soap and water. When it dries it can be reused for the same purpose.
