Second can of pine finish. I am using on pressure treated wood. Interested this year to see if the nano-particles seal out water and mold as advertised. So far so good!
After a recent flood, our deck had inches of gooey mud that required many power washings and scrubbing to get clean, leaving us with raw wood! I bought this product, sprayed and brushed as directed and it looks great. Water once again beads on the surface of the wood!
It went on easily and the color is great. But be careful of getting any new stain on an area that has already dried (I did this in sections on different days)...you don't see it at first but after it dries, it definitely leaves a dark line or spot. Otherwise, excellent product.
Used DEFY on pressure treated pine that is 2 years old. It goes on easily and doesn't require nearly as much product as directions specify. On bare wood the amount would probably be accurate. Pressure treated will absorb less stain, of course.
I easily got stain sample directly from Defy however I bought an oil based water cleanup product from a chain home improvement store for the convenience. Unfortunately, the Cabot went on splotchy and was very opaque even though it was a semi-transparent formula. Also, the color was not a good match from the in-store tinting. I ended up not using it and went with the Defy. It went on the way I expected stain to. I am very happy with the result. I was staining new deck rails and pickets and a picnic table.
Just finished our deck. Pressure treated pine, both old (around 8 yrs) and new replacement boards, all of which were cleaned via pressure washer and allowed to dry. Applied two thin coats using hand held acrylic brush. Second coat applied while first coat was still tacky. Temperature was 95 degrees and 75% humidity during application with full afternoon sun.
We have never used your product before, it was easy to use and coverage was excellent. We can’t be more pleased with the finished look. It hasn’t rained yet, but I’ve already spilled water on it and it beaded beautifully, so we’re excited. Will update when we finally get some rain. As of now, we never intend to use another product but this. Nothing else we’ve used even comes close. HIGHLY recommend!!!
Defy semi-transparent pine stain. Shipped quickly and packaged very well. I used this stain several years ago and buy on occasion when it's time for another coat. Very happy with this product. Lasts at least two years in the SC sun and no stripping before re-staining. Lasts several years on vertical surfaces or surfaces that are covered. Our deck has an area covered by an awning. Easy cleanup as is water based. I know there are people who believe oil base is the way to go but I'll take this product any day. Looks great.
