Did an exceptional job with only one coat. Having read great reviews on the internet, I couldn't get it locally so had to go online. You're company had the best price.
After extensive research I chose to give this a try. On a four year old open deck it worked thoroughly and quickly to remove two coats of semi-transparent stain. On a twenty year old deck with multiple layers of semi-transparent stain it took two treatments of stripper, serious power washing and lots of sandpaper to get down to plain wood. This site was the only one I could find that offered free shipping on top of good prices.
I read a review of deck stain strippers and DEFY was third out of the three best, it was the only one recommended for water based stains, so I ordered it. This stain remover is easy to use. I painted it on with a brush and waited 20 minutes. You could see the layers peeling off with the pressure washer. The shipping from Small's is very fast. I had an email saying my order was shipped within 2 hours after I placed my order and it was delivered in 2 days. Wonderful customer service!
We just used this on our 13 year old deck that had 3 or 4 layers of stain and I'm quite pleased with this stripper. We, liberally, applied the stripper with a sprayer. Let it sit for 15 minutes making sure it stayed wet by spraying more stripper if needed. Scrubbed the area with a brush and then hit it with the pressure washer. For the most part, with just one application, almost all the stain was removed. We would definitely use this product again.
The DEFY stripper worked as advertised. It came highly recommended and did not disappoint. If I had to do it over again, I would have started with this stripper and would have purchased four gallons vice two. It would have saved me a lot of time, cost and labor in the long run. It helps to give the stripper time to work. Also I found the DTEP ordering process to be very good. I had to place two orders since I did not order enough the first time. Each time it only took two days for the stripper to ship, arriving on the date as promised.
The best I have ever used I have been on the construction bus for over 40 years. Take my work it does what it was made for and not much effort on my end. Just apply as directed and wait 15-2 minutes. I used a pressure washer which made my task easier. I have two decks one is 15'x5' the other measures 15'x12'. The total time for removal of stain coats was 3 day and 4 gallon. I do have a shore property with a deck measuring 15'x20' I will be using in the spring.
Removed no stain despite multiple applications and scrubbing.

I think I was expecting too much from your product because after the third application of stripper, I gave up and put the dark red waterproofing/stain back on my deck. I've seen how nice decks look with NATURAL WOOD and clear waterproofing so I thought it was time for a change. Our house is 31 years old and I'm sure there are 10-13 coats of stain/waterproofing on the deck so I'm not faulting your product. It did what it claimed, but I can still only give it 4 STARS because I NEVER saw the natural wood!!
