Last weekend we used DEFY composite deck cleaner on our new deck. It was easy to use and cleaned very well.
This cleaner did a very good job of getting down to the cedar deck wood and though it was a lot of gook to clean as I went along, it was worth it to see how it prepared the wood for the stain.
Bought this to clean the mold off my composite decking. Did not work at all.
Our new deck with pressured treated wood was installed in October 2014. Now, 1 1/2 years later, we took the challenge to clean, brighten and stain. The wood cleaner did not foam up like the instructions indicated. And it really took heavy manpower on the brushing. Two times over and it performed fairly well, but even with the whitener afterwards, it does not compare to new wood that was covered up with things like the grill and hose reel. I don't know if it worked any better than the big box stores products, but I always do internet research and finally decided on this product. We can tell the difference in that it is not perfectly new looking, but some neighbors walked up and thought it was a brand new deck. So there you go! The best part of all was this merchant that delivers excellent customer service and fast shipping!
I found this product to perform as advertised and I especially liked that it does not harm plants.
