ChimneyRx Trowelable Crown Repair 2-gal

Excellent product. Went on easily and has become an impervious seal on my crown cap to what had been a real leaker.

The most important thing this product has to do is last and I only just installed it so I can't speak to its durability yet. Shipping was quick and the bucket appeared to be in good shape. When I opened the bucket (on the roof, ready to install it) I had to throw out about a quart worth due to it being dried out on top, especially around the edges. Minus a star for that. The remainder was in good shape and workable. I was in a hurry so I didn't tape off the flue or put down drop cloth but it was not hard to work with and the mess was minimal. I just put it on with a 4 inch putty knife and smoothed it out. I wasn't able to make it perfectly smooth but it looks great from the ground and bridged the gaps in the cracked cement well.

We live remotely and finding contractors can be extremely expensive and unpredictable. After reaearching the product, we felt we could give this a try. Product arrived quickly, DTEPs was wonderful to work with. Our chimney is made of rock, has two flus and is 50+ years old. There is nothing squared or organized about it. After some trial and error, found the right ways to apply. We are very pleased with the result, have ordered a couple more Chimney RX products thru DTEPs to finish the repairs. Clean up was easy with soap and warm water. With the left over product, have repaired some cracks on our front porch concrete. We are very pleased with this product!! And we are way a head of what hiring a contractor would have cost!

The sealant was very workable and color match was almost perfect. Time will tell for its durability but so far it has been everything it was described to be. Fixed the penetration leakage problem immediately. It would be nice if it were packaged in smaller containers for homeowners but I still have another cap to do. DTEP and ChimneyRx company was very helpful and the shipment came immediately.
