When it comes to keeping my house looking great I really take it seriously. I was a few days away from replacing my gutters due to the black streaks that just made the house look nasty. Before finding Chomp, I tried several products trying to clean them, including TSP and Scotch Brite pads. The result was about 20 minutes per lin. foot while on a ladder 17 feet high. Even then, the results were not acceptable - better yes, perfect or acceptable, no.
I honestly didn't believe the online reviews but I decided to go ahead and gamble thinking "if it works half as good as people were stating it would be better than what I was doing".
I ordered a gallon and received it within 3 days.
The following Saturday I started over the areas I had already cleaned and I was shocked that one spray and a couple of wipes and the gutters were like new. Instead of 20 minutes a foot, this stuff was doing it in 20 seconds a foot, with better results.
I was shocked to find that the results were exactly what I experienced with the (pre-cleaned) cleaner sections, no difference whatsoever. Apply the Chomp, wipe a few times, rinse and move on.
After completing the entire house and allowing everything to dry, I did notice a few areas where I needed a second application. Areas one or two inches wide and mostly at the very top of the gutter. Not a problem, just a little touch up.
These gutters look exactly as they did the day they were installed, brand new. Chomp turned out to be a $23.00 investment that ended up saving us $4,300.00 (and yes I have the estimates for replacing the gutters to prove it).
A word of caution, safety glasses, latex gloves and long sleeve shirts are a must, and you will find yourself changing shirts often due to wet sleeves.
One other piece of advice, try and keep the un-cleaned gutter sections dry, the product works better (and faster) on dry gutters. If using a 5 gallon bucket only put about 1/2 an inch of product in the bucket, just enough to wet the mop head., when discarding the dirty used portions, pour it into a separate container, wipe the inside of your bucket with a dry towel and refill with another 1/2" and continue. Overfilling your work bucket will only waste the product. A little bit of Chomp goes a long way.
This product works better than the reviews state. You have to use it to understand. When they offer printed tee shirts that say "IT'S A CHOMP THING - YOU WOULDN'T UNDERSTAND" I want one!
